Lapidary arts specializing in cutting and polishing larger semi-precious boulders
A semi-precious gemstone-quality rock is comprised of various mineral crystals that have grown and formed together with metals and organics into a single rock over millions of years. These morphydized crystals are microscopically large and have been altered by heat, motion, pressure and contact with other minerals after they were initially volcanically created. They grow into their natural shape and orientation with few significant cracks or fissures, so there's little place for light or mineralized water to enter except through it’s surface contact. As they grow, the crystals get reflected off other crystals—and then again off yet more crystals surrounding it, until all the way into your eye!
So when you look into a specimen of this quality, it appears like you're looking directly into another world!
Why invest in semi-precious rocks, minerals and gems?
They’re nature’s rare unique works of art that people have valued and treasured since the beginning of mankind. They are still being enjoyed now, and will continue to be appreciated into the future.
Like other ‘real estate property’, ‘its not being made anymore’ (naturally, during our lifetimes), so supplies are limited.
The best materials increase in value as natural supplies become extinct, controlled, regulated and horded around the world, thus reducing their availability and raising their prices.
Unlike man-made virtual investments like stocks, bonds and cryptocurrency, rocks are tangible and can be physically held, displayed, admired and cherished like rare metals and precious gems.
Unlike precious gems, (i.e.; diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds, etc.) you don’t need to be (or pay) a gemologist to know if its’ real stone.
Natural stones can be more interesting and beautiful than other forms of art and jewelry.
They are more available and affordable to most people.
